Our Services

Kuria Consulting provides compliance, supervisory, and operational services across the full regulatory lifecycle, from initial registration through examination and ongoing testing. Every engagement is scoped to your firm's size, business model, and budget.

START WHERE YOU ARE

Different firms. Different needs. A clear path forward.

No matter where you are in your compliance journey, Kuria Consulting meets you there—with practical guidance and solutions tailored to your situation.

I'm starting my own firm or going independent.

Registration, documentation, and a compliance foundation in place before your first client — and one that travels with you.

I have a program, but I'm not confident in it.

Gap analysis, forensic testing, and a prioritized remediation plan.

I'm responsible for supervising people, and I'm not sure the record shows it.

Written supervisory procedures, supervisory structure, branch and remote location arrangements, and electronic communications oversight.

I have an examination coming or a deficiency letter in hand.

Mock examination, document preparation, and response drafting.

My program is built. I need it to keep running.

Annual review, periodic testing, training, compliance calendar, and supplemental CCO or compliance staffing capacity.

OUR SERVICES

Compliance solutions for every stage of your firm's lifecycle.

Registration & Firm Formation

Getting registered correctly the first time.

Registration is where the SEC or state regulator forms its first impression of your firm, and where mistakes are most expensive to unwind. We manage the filings and build the underlying program at the same time, so that what you file and what you do actually match.

Compliance Program Development

A program written for your firm, not adapted from someone else’s.

A compliance manual that describes a firm you are not is a liability, not a protection. We draft, revise, and test the documents that define your program — then make sure your team understands them.

Supervisory & Operational Oversight

Making oversight observable and provable.

Supervision is where broker-dealers and dually registered firms most often come apart under examination. Not because no one was supervising, but because nothing documented that they were.

Examination Readiness & Regulatory Response

Find the problems before the examiner does.

There is a large difference between a firm that is compliant and a firm that can demonstrate it inside a two-week document request. We prepare you for the second one.

Ongoing Support, Testing & Training

Compliance is judged on what you can demonstrate, not on what you intended.

Annual reviews, periodic testing, and documented training are what turn a program into a record.

HOW WE WORK

A practical, partnership-driven approach.

Kuria Consulting is intentionally structured to provide direct, principal-led support. You work with Dr. Kathy Kuria, not a layered team, which means practical advice, faster decisions, and solutions tailored to your firm.

01

We start with your firm, not a template.

Before any document is drafted, we understand your business lines, your people, your systems, and your records. The program follows the firm.

02

You work with the Principal.

Client load is intentionally limited. The person who assesses your program is the person who builds it.

03

We tell you what you need to hear.

A consultant who only agrees with you is expensive decoration. You will get a direct assessment, prioritized by risk.

04

We build for the day after delivery.

Documents without training, testing, and evidence do not survive examination. Every engagement closes with what happens next and who owns it.
ENGAGEMENT MODELS

Flexible support for your unique needs.

Project Engagement

A defined scope, a fixed fee, and a delivery date. Best for registration, a manual rebuild, a mock examination, or an annual review.

Ongoing Retainer

A set monthly commitment covering consultation, filings, testing, training, and the compliance calendar. Best for firms without a full-time compliance function.

Advisory Hours

Blocks of time you draw against as questions arise. Best for firms with an in-house CCO who needs additional staffing and a specialist on call.
Every engagement begins with a scoping conversation and a written proposal. You will know the scope, the fee, and the timeline before any work begins.
